Message has lines too long for transport

Message has lines too long for transport is an error causing mail messages to bounce. This article will explain how to solve the issue for users using the Outlook mail client.

Outlook by default sends e-mail in HTML format. In some cases, Outlook may not be configured to wrap sentences correctly. Wrapping sentences is very important, because long lines are difficult to read. Long lines will cause the receiving server to reject the email and as a result it will bounce back to you.

To wrap sentences correctly, you will need to configure Outlook to break lines. This will improve the readability of your emails. It is recommended to break lines to around 65-70 characters. Outlook’s email client will automatically breaks long sentences and starts them on a new line when lines are wrapped.
